About This Site

A fan-made guide site for Idols of Ash, run by one person who spent way too many hours falling into the dark.

Who's Behind This?

Hey. I'm just a solo indie horror game fan who got hooked on Idols of Ash the week it came out. I played through Normal mode three times and Nightmare mode twice (the second Nightmare run was the one where I finally stopped panic-grappling into walls). The game doesn't hold your hand at all, and I loved that about it, but I also kept wishing someone had written down where the checkpoints were and how to deal with the Murderpede in specific sections.

Nobody had. So I started taking notes, then screenshots, then writing things up. That's how this site happened.

Why This Site Exists

When Idols of Ash launched, there were barely any guides online. A few Reddit threads, some short YouTube videos, but nothing you could actually reference mid-run. I died a lot in my first playthrough because I didn't understand how the rope system worked. I died even more because I didn't know the Murderpede has specific behavior patterns you can predict once you learn them.

I figured if I was struggling with this stuff, other players probably were too. So I wrote up everything I learned and put it here. Nothing fancy, just honest notes from someone who actually played the game.

What You'll Find Here

Content Quality

Everything on this site comes from my own gameplay. Screenshots are from my actual runs. If I write that a certain strategy works, it's because I tested it myself, usually multiple times. I don't copy-paste from other sites or wikis.

That said, I'm one person, and I make mistakes. If you spot something wrong in a guide, or if a game update changes how something works, please let me know. I'll fix it.
